Shiatsu and Acupressure Massage

A healing art deeply rooted in the philosophy and based on 5000 years old principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Shiatsu/Acupressure promotes the circulation of Vital Ki (energy) in the body.  Through the stimulation of acupressure points.  Shiatsu/Acupressure revitalizes and restores balance to your body and mind.  Shiatsu massage uses acupressure techniques, which is applied with hands, thumbs, elbows and knees.   A highly effective form of bodywork that leaves your body feeling deeply relaxed, yet fully energized.

Anma Shiatsu is a technique following the lines of your meridians using, acupressure, kneading, tapping, vibrating and stretching.  This technique allows the client to get in touch with their own healing abilities.  It is a balance - an interactive relationship between practitioner and client.

The therapist uses their body to create the pressure on the clients meridians.  Because of its many benefits, shiatsu massage is considered a healing holistic therapy.

How does shiatsu work?

When you apply acupressure down the meridians, you release or unblock any negative flow.  You can feel the energy flow almost instantaneous.
This form of treatment (Shiatsu) calms the overactive sympathetic nervous system, improving circulation and relieving stress.   Shiatsu is based on traditional Chinese medicine, where illness is thought to result from imbalances/blockages in the natural flow of energy through the body.

Foot Reflexology Massage

Dating back to Egyptian times, reflexology is a profoundly relaxing, specific pressure and massage technique working on precise reflex points of your feet that correspond to all organs, glands, bones, and muscles.

Reflexology helps cleanse your system of toxins, improves blood circulation, and supports you body’s own healing potential.  Reflexology releases energy blocks and is especially beneficial for headaches, sinusitis, asthma, muscle tension, back pain, digestive disorders, fatigue, insomnia and women’s health issues.
When specific pressure is applied on the feet, it balances the nervous system and releases chemicals such as endorphins that reduce pain and release stress.  Making you a very happy individual!

How Does Reflexology Work?

When you have an imbalance/blockage in your body, your body creates a chemical that gets in the way of our bio-electric energy flow. When you apply pressure to reflex points on the feet, your circulation improves, allowing the blood to deliver more oxygen and nutrients to the cells.

Stress causes organs and glands to become overactive or underactive. Reflexology helps the body to restore balance, allowing the body to heal itself.

During a reflexology session you feel overwhelmingly relaxed and in somewhat of a meditative state of being.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and patients who have sustained physical injury.

Deep tissue massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles not with the grain. Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage.

A study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that people's blood pressure fell after a single deep-tissue massage. A 2010 meta-analysis in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found that massage modalities like deep tissue reduce stress hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin.

Reiki

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki is a Japanese technique for reducing stress and promotes healing and relaxation.  It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us.  If our "life force energy" is low, we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are capable of feeling happy and healthy.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement. It works well in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Reiki balances the human energy fields and assists in aligning your Chakras. The Reiki practitioner assists the client to heal themselves spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically by a simple laying on of hands.  Using Healing Symbols, the Reiki practitioner channels the Universal Life Force energy allowing it to flow where is needed to bring the energy centers into alignment.

The Reiki practitioner must be a clear vessel through which the healing energy flows. He/She plays an instrumental part in the healing process, but ultimately it is up to the client to manifest harmony and balance in their own life.

Pranic Healing

Pranic Healing is a simple yet powerful and effective system of no-touch energy healing.  It is based on the fundamental principle that the body is a self-repairing living entity.

Pranic Healing is applied on the bio-electromagnetic field known as the aura, or energy body.  This energy body absorbs life energy and distributes it throughout the physical body, to the muscles, organs, glands, etc.  The reason Pranic Healing works on the energy body is that physical ailments first appear as energetic disruptions in the aura before manifesting as problems in the physical body.
